Get Started with Volume 1
Sermon Outlines for Busy Pastors: Volume 1 is the first book in our series and the one that started it all. There are 52 sermons included, one for every Sunday of the year.
Every sermon outline is a complete outline. The outlines are an exact copy of what I take into the pulpit. I like to have more than just the sermon points with me when I preach. I much rather have too much information than too little. So I use these outlines as my sermon notes. For those time when I might veer a bit off topic, these outlines are detailed enough to quickly get me back on track.
I created Volume 1, and the entire Sermon Outlines for Busy Pastors series, for normal, regular pastors. Pastors who may be the only staff member. Pastors who are serving in a bi-vocational role. Of course, I think any pastor, in any position, will find them extremely helpful.
These outlines can serve as a way of jumpstarting your sermon preparation. They can give you ideas that you can take and more fully develop yourself.
They are also instantly preachable. With very little editing you will have a sermon to preach this Sunday. When your week has been chaotic, which for many of us is the norm, these outlines can ease your anxiety of trying to get something together for Sunday.
For a bit of an overview of all my sermon outlines, you can look at the “Overview” page for a little more detail.
Volume 1 has sermon outlines from both the Old and New Testaments. There are outlines for New Year’s, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. And all outlines are applicable for any Sunday.
I’ve also included outlines for a complete five-week sermon series. The title of the series is “Turning the World Upside Down,” and is built upon Acts 17. In that chapter, Paul and Silas are referred to as “men who turned the world upside down.” I explore that idea and wonder out loud, “What if the people in our area said that about us? About our church?” Then I build each sermon upon four questions I see raised from that passage.
Down below, you can find the title and scripture reference for each of the 52 sermons. I’ve also included a short summary for each outline.
