   family's line box. The numbers come from the font binaries themselves
   (hhea metrics, unitsPerEm 1000), measured against Liberation Serif and
   Liberation Sans — which are metric-compatible with Times New Roman and
   Arial, so the match holds on Windows, macOS and Linux alike. A reader on a
   cold cache now gets the right shape immediately, and the swap when the
   webfont lands re-wraps almost nothing.

   Do not drop the overrides. Without them the page reflows ~16% on swap.
